Surgery Update...

It's a bit of a rough go -- there were three procedures altogether. Trim and repair torn meniscus, replace anterior cruciate ligament, smooth damage done by rheumatoid arthritis to the large bone in the lower leg -- it's the last that is causing the most pain. And the pain meds are making me sick.

Anyone got some cheese to go with my whine? LOL

Sends a good bottle of aussie red and a tasty cheese platter.

I have only seen someone go through a knee reconstruction and it wasn't pretty. Wishing you all the best in your recovery Dawn.

It sounds as if you are doing as well as can be expected. Sending you vibes for speedy recovery. I am not a doctor but I thought I would share this with you:

Pain medicine may sometimes cause nausea or vomiting. These symptoms usually pass in a few days. Until then, it is often helpful to take a medicine to prevent nausea. Make sure you doctor gives you a prescription for this.

Taking your pain medicine with food will help decrease nausea.

Try to limit your intake to clear liquids when nauseated.

Also, pain medicine can cause constipation with can also cause or increase neusea. Taking a stool softener might help!!

But really, call your Doctor and ask because you should be as comfortable as possible. Sending you smiles.

oh dear, your description made me shudder! Dawn, I hope the pain lessens quickly, especially if you can't take the meds to help alleviate it.

Whine away...you deserve it. I have never had surgery on my knee, but I have injured it. The pain alone is enough to make you sick.
